Michael Taylor joined HarbourVest in 1998. He focuses on partnership investing, including both primary partnerships and portfolios of direct investments. Originally a member of the direct team, he later expanded his investment focus to include partnerships and direct portfolio acquisitions. He serves on the advisory boards of partnerships managed by Advent International, Arlington Capital Partners, Battery Ventures, Evercore Partners, Highland Capital Partners, KeyNote Ventures, Saints Capital, Stone Point Capital, Ventizz Capital Partners and Vestar Capital Partners. Taylor also serves or has served on the board of directors of Earth Networks (WeatherBug), CCBN (acquired by Thomson Financial) and Kimo.com (acquired by Yahoo!). He joined HarbourVest after several years with Morgan Stanley’s investment banking division where he was involved in both M&A and corporate finance. For eight years, Taylor served as a Lieutenant Commander with the United States Navy, as a Naval Aviator.

Taylor received a bachelor of science, with distinction, from the United States Naval Academy in 1986 and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.

Robert Wadsworth joined HarbourVest in 1986 and is a managing director who focuses on direct investments. He manages many of HarbourVest’s investment activities in both the industrial and information technology sectors. He is currently a director of Network Engines Inc., Trintech Group PLC, and VocalTec Communications Ltd., which are all public companies. He is also a director of Akibia, Earth Networks (WeatherBug), Camstar Systems, Kinaxis and several other private companies. Wadworth’s previous experience includes management consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton, where he specialized in the areas of operations strategy and manufacturing productivity.

Wadsworth received a bachelor of science, magna cum laude, in systems engineering and computer science from the University of Virginia in 1982 and an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard Business School in 1986. Wadsworth serves as a trustee of the University of Virginia School of Engineering & Applied Science and the Dana Hall School.

Michael Moritz is a managing partner at Sequoia Capital, where he works with internet, outsourcing and technology companies. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 1986, he worked in a variety of positions at Time Warner and was a founder of Technologic Partners.

Stephen Weiss has spent the past 13 years in proprietary post-secondary education, creating and building organizations to leadership positions. Since August 2009, Weiss has been advising private equity firms on all aspects of investments in the education sector. From 2003 to 2009, he was the founding President of Education Management Corporation’s (NASDAQ: EDMC) Online Higher Education division. EDMC delivers fully online and hybrid programs through South University, Argosy University and The Art Institutes.

From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Weiss was the president and chief operating officer of Capella Education Company (NASDAQ:CPLA), which operates Capella University, a leading fully online post-secondary institution. During his tenure, Capella Education Company earned positions on the Inc. 500 list for fastest growing private companies for five consecutive years.

Prior to entering the education sector in 1998, Weiss held several senior-level operating positions within Fortune 500 companies. His primary focus was leading the turnaround of underperforming business units through a broader vision and strategic direction.

Weiss is on the Education Advisory Board of Bertelsmann AG and has served on the board of Twin Cities Public Television. He earned his bachelor of science from Skidmore College and an MBA from Babson College.
